Presidential Greetings!

On behalf of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Gamma Sigma Omega Chapter in Savannah, Georgia. I would like to thank you for visiting our official chapter website!

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® was the first Greek Letter Sorority for African American women founded on the campus of Howard University on January 15, 1908.  In our 115-year legacy, our current International Program, Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood, led by our International President Danette Anthony Reed, is a call to action and a call to service.

The five initiatives that support our International Program are:

Empower Our Families

Build Our Economic Wealth

Enhance Our Environment

Advocate for Social Justice

Uplift Our Local Community

This year, 2023 marks the coming of the 80th anniversary of the chartering of our Chapter on May 29, 1943.  Since 1943, Gamma Sigma Omega Chapter has provided service through programs and community outreach, we are committed to continuing our rich history of service to the City of Savannah and to all mankind.  With our current chapter membership of 193 talented, dedicated, visionary, and diverse college-educated women we will continue to work extremely hard to foster the precepts of the sorority.

Additionally, Gamma Sigma Omega Chapter is honored and proud to sponsor two undergraduate chapter, Gamma Upsilon, located on the campus of Savannah State University in Savannah, Georgia and Sigma Tau located on the campus of Georgia Southern University Armstrong Campus in Savannah, Georgia.  We take our roles as mentors to our undergraduate sisters seriously and engage with them throughout the year.

If you are a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® looking for a chapter home, an organization desiring to collaborate with us to assist in executing our initiatives, interested in participating in any of our signature programs/fundraisers, seeking scholarship opportunities, or looking to volunteer for our many public community service events, please continue to visit our website and social media platforms regularly for updates.
